Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) New York office is looking for a Structural Engineer 1 to join ourTeam! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. As a Structural Engineer 1, you will perform professional engineering work, including developmental assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under close supervision.
The primary responsibility of the Structural Engineer 1 is to review and check standard structural design calculations; as well as perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software). Essential Duties/Functions And Responsibilities
- Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence
- Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans
- Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.
- Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
- Ability to comprehend and apply advanced calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory principles.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Actively engage clients consistently to maintain and promote work.
- Assists in preparing and presenting technical information to colleagues and clients.
- Assists Project, Design, and/or Office Managers as requested.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepares reports, specifications, studies, and permits.
- Promotes and fosters excellence in all aspects of securing work for the firm and the delivery of services.

- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant transportation design experience - including but not limited to roadway, highway, and/or bridges
- Masters in Structural Engineering Required
- EIT required; or on track to acquire within the next 6 months
- MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.
- Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
- Fundamental knowledge of structural engineering
- Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment who can work on and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
