Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) is seeking Construction Inspectors at all levels (Inspector I, 1-5yrs; Inspector II, 5-10yrs; or Inspector III, 10 years) to support Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) projects throughout Texas. Positions will support roadway, bridge, drainage, utility, traffic control, and transportation infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, near active traffic, on uneven terrain, and around heavy equipment. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record, and be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screening. ICE is a drug-free workplace.
Inspector I
This is a full-time field assignment. Expected work hours are 8 hours/day (40 hours/week) unless approved otherwise. The work will entail possible weekend and night work. Work schedules will vary according to the project schedule. Inspectors will be eligible for preapproved overtime at time and a half if approved prior to the hours worked.

Responsibilities
- Monitor contractor operations for compliance with TxDOT plans, specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and quantity documentation.
- Verify pay quantities and maintain project records.
- Inspect earthwork, flexible base, asphalt paving, concrete, structures, drainage, utilities, and traffic control.
- Review material certifications, test reports, and contractor submittals.
- Coordinate with TxDOT staff, contractors, and project teams.
- Identify and document deficiencies and non-conforming work.
- Utilize Document software such as: SiteManager, AWP, HCSS, FieldManager.
- Mentor junior inspectors and assist with project administration.

Inspector I
- 1–5 years of experience.
- Inspector must have performed at least 1 year of roadway/bridge inspections for government entity in the United States; TXDOT experience required.
- Must have the following certifications:
- ACI Grade I
- ACI Field Testing "Sampling” – must be completed within 2 years of hire
- ACI Lab Testing "Strength" – must be completed within 2 years of hire
- SB102 Certification - Must be completed within 2 years of hire
- HMAC Level 1B Roadway Specialist- Must be completed within 2 years of hire
- OSHA 10-Hour – Must be completed within 3 months of hire
- OSHA 30-Hour – Must be completed within 3 months of hire
- TxDOT ENV Matrix Training (10 classes)-must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- 5–10 years of roadway/bridge inspections for TXDOT.
- Must have the following certifications:
- ACI Grade I
- ACI Field Testing "Sampling” – must be completed within 6 months of hire
- ACI Lab Testing "Strength" – must be completed within 1 year of hire
- SB102 Certification - Must be completed within 6 months of hire
- HMAC Level 1B Roadway Specialist- Must be completed within 1 year of hire

- Strong understanding of TxDOT specifications and documentation requirements.
- Must have the following certifications:
- ACI Grade I

- SB102 Certification - Must be completed within 6 months of hire

- ATSSA TCS
- Nuclear Gauge Safety
- OSHA 10-Hour – Must be completed within 3 months of hire
- OSHA 30-Hour – Must be completed within 3 months of hire
- TxDOT ENV Matrix Training (10 classes)-must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- TXDOT – Certified to do Electrical Work
- ATSSA Traffic Control Technician
- ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor
- Nuclear Gauge Safety Training
- Bridge Construction Inspection Experience
