VIGO Photonics is a global leader in the production of innovative infrared detectors and semiconductor materials, proudly listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW). Our American subsidiary, VIGO Photonics Corporation, is actively driving our expansion across North America. We are looking for an autonomous, results-driven Senior Accountant to take full ownership of our US financial operations and act as a vital bridge to our headquarters in Poland.
In this role, you will oversee and operationally execute all accounting and tax activities for the VIGO US branch. A critical component of this position is the preparation and timely delivery of reliable financial data for group consolidation, meeting the rigorous reporting standards of a publicly traded company.
· End-to-End Ledger Management: Maintain full-cycle accounting for the US entity (General Ledger, AP, AR, fixed assets, and reconciliations).
· Payroll & HR Administration: Manage the payroll process and employee benefits in coordination with our local US payroll provider.
· Treasury & Cash Flow: Monitor daily cash flow, execute bank transfers, and perform bank reconciliations.
· Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages to Poland HQ on tight public-company deadlines.
· GAAP Alignment: Map and convert local financial data from US GAAP to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for group consolidation.
· Intercompany Transactions: Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts, transfer pricing documentation, and cross-border transactions.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the Group Tax and Accounting Team in Poland to explain variances and analyze financial performance.
· Audit Facilitation: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors (both local US auditors and Group auditors from Poland).
· Compliance: Ensure all local financial operations comply with US laws and the internal control policies of the parent public company.
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to optimize, automate, and scale accounting processes within the US entity.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or sole-accountant role within a multinational business, preferably with its own production facility.
· Accounting Standards: Strong practical knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS (critical for consolidation).
· IT Literacy: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience working with modern ERP systems.
