Mechanical Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working out of either our Baltimore or Norfolk office. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with 5 to 15 years of experience who are looking to contribute to a variety of exciting projects, including mission-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for engineering excellence, and a desire to work in a collaborative and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and oversee mechanical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project progress aligns with design intent and quality standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule.
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to maintain best practices in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5 to 15 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Proven experience working on a variety of projects; mission-critical project experience is a bonus.
• Strong proficiency in engineering software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment with flexibility.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborate with team members to develop and refine project designs.
• Attend project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Perform engineering calculations and create detailed documentation.
• Review and approve technical drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Balance multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
