Senior Construction Inspector (Civil/Transportation) in Kingston, Ulster County, NY
SCOPE: ITE is looking for multiple construction senior inspectors to support highway construction projects. The primary duties for these positions will require the experience and knowledge of performing Highway & Bridge Construction Inspection duties including construction inspection, and the understanding of construction project administration methods and processes. This person will perform field inspection, material testing, and documentation along with other tasks.
Qualifications for Senior Inspector:
- Must possess and maintain a valid NICET Level II or III certification in Transportation/Highway Construction, or equivalent degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Inspector role with agency experience such as NYSDOT and NYSTA
- ACI Concrete Grade I Certification
- NETTCP certification preferred
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn project specific software as needed
Construction Inspector, Duties Include:
- Inspect all construction materials to be used at the site to ensure compliance with the Plans and Specifications.
- Inspect all construction activities to ensure quality of workmanship.
- Maintain daily records of the numbers and classification of workers employed by the Contractors using the Authority’s Site Manager & EBO.
- Prepare daily reports of all construction and engineering field work using the Authority’s Site Manger & EBO.
- Prepare and forward to the Authority weekly quantity summaries for each item of the contract, with an appropriate format.
- Maintain records covering running totals of quantities and costs while construction is in progress.
- Maintain daily records of the type and size of equipment used on all construction operations using the Authority’s Site Manager & EBO.
- Review traffic protection procedures.
- Review and coordinate submittals as required per the Plans and Specifications.
- Attend meetings or conferences as directed by the Authority.
- Perform tests required to ensure material compliance with the Plans and Specifications.
