About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join an innovative company in the industrial technology space. This is an opportunity to own and evolve a production data platform that powers operational insights, reporting, and engineering decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Develop and support cloud-native data solutions on AWS.
- Build and maintain Apache Airflow workflows for orchestration and scheduling.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases and data models.
- Develop reliable data pipelines from multiple operational and business systems.
- Build scalable reporting datasets for business and engineering teams.
- Create dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Amazon QuickSight.
- Monitor production pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform reliability.
- Improve data quality, governance, and operational efficiency.
- Document data architecture, workflows, SOPs, and engineering processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders while acting as a technical subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of Data Engineering experience.
- Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
- Experience building and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Experience with AWS data services.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing.
- Experience building production reporting solutions.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, or similar BI tools.
- Experience monitoring production systems and troubleshooting data pipeline issues.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial automation, energy, IoT, logistics, or operational technology environments.
- Experience working with telemetry or time-series data.
- Familiarity with SCADA, Ignition, PLC data, or industrial systems.
- Experience with Kafka, Spark, dbt, Docker, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience designing highly available production data platforms.
