Tool & Mold Technician
Location: Taylorsville, UT 84123
Job Type: 12 Months Contract (W2) – Possible Extension
Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Job Summary: Seeking a Molding Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plastic injection molds. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with molds, shop tools, and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair of injection molds.
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble mold components.
- Troubleshoot mold and equipment issues.
- Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
- Read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company safety and quality standards.
- Support special projects and work overtime as needed.
Required Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with standard and metric measurements.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- 2 years of tool making, mold repair, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Injection molding experience is a plus but not required.
