Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Histology Scientist/Histotechnologist to support our research and clinical operations through expert specimen processing and digital imaging. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy (sectioning), staining, and high-resolution slide scanning. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in histological specimen preparation and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized histological procedures, including tissue processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E and special stains).
- Operate high-resolution slide scanners to digitize specimens for image analysis and archiving.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality preparation of specimens in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain and update specimen records and workflow through Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Collaborate with research scientists and pathologists to support study-specific histology needs.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and cleanliness in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Pathology, or a related Life Science field.
- Certification Preferred: HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a histology laboratory setting.
- Proficient in the use of LIMS and digital pathology systems.
- Familiarity with immunohistochemistry (IHC) or in situ hybridization (ISH) is a plus.
- Experience working in a GLP/GCP-compliant or CAP-accredited laboratory.
Salary : $52 - $60
