Industrial Engineer – Material Flow & Logistics Engineering
Location: Warren, MI
Job Type: W2 Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing material flow, storage planning, and logistics process development within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role will focus on optimizing how materials move through the facility—from receiving and storage through production delivery and shipping.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Plan for Every Part (PFEP) activities and material flow planning.
- Calculate space, racking, floor storage, and dunnage requirements for direct materials.
- Develop material handling solutions involving ASRS, AGV, and AMR technologies.
- Create material flow layouts integrating people, equipment, storage, and production areas.
- Analyze material movement, congestion, labor requirements, and space utilization.
- Support equipment design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with OEMs on project schedules, open issues, budgets, and forecasts.
- Lead project activities, track milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Apply structured problem-solving approaches such as Red X and 7 Diamond.
- Support PFMEA, simulation, controls plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Operations, CME Execution, and Launch teams.
- Help establish material flow metrics, standardized processes, and operational playbooks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, or material flow experience.
- Experience with material handling equipment and automation.
- Knowledge of ASRS, AGV, AMR, or similar material movement systems.
- Experience working with OEMs and equipment suppliers.
- Project leadership and timeline/status tracking experience.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, simulation, controls plans, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with controls engineering concepts.
- Practical experience with structured problem-solving methodologies.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
Salary : $35 - $38
