We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support engine assembly and automation operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is heavily focused on plant floor support, troubleshooting, robotics, PLC programming, and launch activities for next-generation engine programs.
🔧 Key Technical Requirements:
• Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC Programming (RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000)
• Siemens PLC Programming (TIA Portal / S7)
• Ladder Logic Programming
• Troubleshooting electrical schematics & machine control circuits
• Robotics experience (Fanuc preferred)
• Industrial Ethernet/IP networks
• Vision systems experience (Matrox preferred)
• Automation systems, instrumentation, test systems, and controls
⭐ Preferred Experience:
• Automotive manufacturing or industrial automation
• Servo drives, motion control, and VFDs
• Cognex / Dalsa vision systems
• Fanuc Robot/Cobot systems
• AMR/Autonomous systems exposure
🎯 Ideal Candidate:
• 2–3 years of controls or automation experience
• Comfortable working on the manufacturing plant floor daily
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
• Fast learner with excellent communication skills
• Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
📌 Additional Details:
• Onsite role – 5 days/week
• Must be open to any shift (non-rotating)
• Weekend support required (2–3 weekends/month)
• Potential for full-time conversion after 6 months
• Local Buffalo/Niagara candidates preferred
🎓 Education:
• Technical degree preferred (Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology)
• Strong internship/co-op experience will also be considered
