North America CAPEX Sourcing Lead
We are seeking a North America CAPEX Sourcing Lead to drive strategic sourcing and category management for capital projects across manufacturing operations in the United States and Canada.
In this role, you will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS, and other business stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and deliver cost savings for major capital investments. You will play a key role in supporting plant expansions, infrastructure upgrades, manufacturing equipment purchases, and other capital projects while ensuring quality, compliance, and supply continuity.
Job Description:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Lead sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs for CAPEX projects and categories.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business and operational objectives.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of sourcing initiatives and savings opportunities across the region.
- Support regional teams in executing sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
Supplier Management & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service agreements, and contracts with suppliers.
- Identify and implement cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities.
- Drive supplier performance improvements through collaboration, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize market intelligence, benchmarking data, and should-cost models to support sourcing decisions
Stakeholder Partnership
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS, and other key stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Translate technical and operational needs into sourcing solutions that balance cost, quality, safety, and service continuity.
- Provide sourcing recommendations and market insights to support strategic decision-making.
Reporting & Value Delivery
- Track and report savings, value creation, and sourcing project results.
- Monitor supplier performance, risk, and compliance across the supply base.
- Support business objectives through disciplined sourcing execution and procurement best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the job description
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience supporting CAPEX sourcing, procurement, or category management activities.
- Experience leading sourcing events, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Exposure to category strategy development, business case creation, and supplier management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, or CPG environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with national suppliers and regional vendors.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to identify savings and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CIPS, or PMP are preferred.
- Client-facing & client management skills
- Ability to travel as required.
