Job Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides rapid, life-saving care to patients experiencing acute injuries, trauma, or sudden severe illnesses. Operating in a high-stress, fast-paced environment, the ER RN serves as the first line of clinical defence, stabilizing patients and coordinating critical interventions.
Core Responsibilities
- Patient Triage: Assess incoming patients immediately to prioritize medical care based on the severity of their illness or injury.
- Stabilization: Administer critical interventions to stabilize vital signs and manage acute pain.
- Medication Administration: Dispense emergency medications, initiate IV therapy, and monitor patient responses.
- Advanced Interventions: Assist physicians with intubations, blood transfusions, cardioversion, and minor surgical procedures.
- Clinical Monitoring: Continuously check vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and oxygen levels via telemetry equipment.
- Wound & Trauma Care: Provide immediate treatment for fractures, lacerations, gunshot wounds, burns, and severe allergic reactions.
- EHR Documentation: Chart highly accurate, real-time electronic health records regarding patient conditions, treatments, and timelines.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with trauma surgeons, lab technicians, and specialists to transfer stable patients to specific hospital units.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Core Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Critical Capabilities: Rapid critical thinking, high emotional stability, physical stamina, and exceptional communication under pressure.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
