Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and components, with a focus on aerospace and aviation applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex projects that involve cutting-edge technology, systems engineering, and compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and ASME codes. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that meet rigorous safety and performance requirements within the aerospace and military sectors.
Duties
- Prepare engineering drawings for the installation of avionics and electrical equipment and wire harnesses using computer based drafting tools (CATIA V6).Assist in wiring diagram and harness assembly preparation using computer-based wiring software (Mentor Graphics).
- Assist in writing test plans, conformity requests, functional tests, and compliance reports.
- Assist in production and field support including design evaluations, troubleshooting, and root-cause and corrective action analyses.
- Work alongside other organizations from engineering, customer service, ISC, flight test, and airworthiness to support a broad range of projects by providing your technical expertise.
- Perform advanced electrical and avionics design and integration analysis requiring frequent application of mechanical engineering principles. Prepare certification documentation including certification plans, ground and flight test plans and certification reports showing avionics and electrical systems compliance with 14 CFR Part 23/25Evaluate and analyze avionics and electrical system design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessmentsParticipate in the development and improvement of the team's processes and tools.
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or other related Engineering field
- Relative mechanical, avionics, or electrical engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience with avionics and electrical system design to the requirements of CFR 14 Part 23/25 is desired.
- Experience with CATIA component and assembly design and drafting is strongly desired. CATIA V6 is preferred.
- Experience with computer-aided wiring diagram and harnessing software is desired. Mentor Graphics is preferred.
- Experience with electrical wiring, harnessing, and manufacturing is strongly desired.
- Experience with a PLM system is desired. ENOVIA is preferred.
- Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills required.
- Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required, Visio experience is desired.
- Design knowledge of electrical bonding criteria, thermal cooling requirements for electronic equipment, EMI shielding, and High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) / Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL) installation criteria is considered a plus.
Pay: $88, $95,000.00 per year
