Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients across critical and non-critical care settings. The ideal candidate will assess, implement, monitor, and evaluate respiratory therapy interventions while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
- Administer respiratory medications via nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers (MDIs), and medical gas therapy.
- Perform respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, incentive spirometry, chest physiotherapy, PEP therapy, and pulse oximetry.
- Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including ventilator setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and weaning.
- Perform airway management procedures including suctioning, intubation assistance, extubation, and bronchoscopy assistance.
- Monitor respiratory mechanics and patient response to treatment while adjusting care plans as appropriate.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and clinical findings accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Verify physician orders and maintain compliance with hospital policies and documentation standards.
- Respond promptly to Code Blue, Rapid Response (RIT/CRIT), emergency airway situations, and patient transports.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, and disease management.
- Mentor new staff members and participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Valid Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License or temporary practice letter issued by the Oklahoma Medical Board.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within two months of hire).
- 0–6 months of respiratory therapy experience (new graduates welcome).
Schedule & Benefits
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
- Starting pay: $29.89/hour
- $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
- $5,000 Relocation Assistance with a two-year employment commitment
