Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a contract assignment at Lebanon NH. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, treat, and monitor cardiopulmonary conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory disorders.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments.
- Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and pulmonary function testing as required.
- Respond to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response events.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and progress in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Active state Respiratory Care license (if applicable).
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred or required based on unit needs.
- Minimum of one year of recent hospital respiratory therapy experience preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills.
