Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients during assigned shifts while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
- Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse (PCU RN) – Travel Assignment
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Shift: 12-Hour Day Shifts
- Schedule: 36 hours per week (3 days/week)
- Duration: 13 weeks possible extension
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Deliver safe, patient-centered, timely, and efficient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or established protocols.
- Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes according to facility policies.
- Coordinate care with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and patient families.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge planning.
- Implement and follow established protocols and standards of care.
- Supervise and provide clinical guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Float between departments and nearby locations within a 20-mile radius as needed.
Testing Requirement
Selected candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite before starting the assignment.
- Candidates will have one opportunity to retest if the first attempt is unsuccessful.
- A second failure will result in contract cancellation.
Education Requirements
One of the following is required:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
