What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Mailroom Clerk position at Informatix, Inc.?
We are currently seeking a part time Mailroom\Document Scanning Clerk to work out of our Ridgeland, MS office. The Mailroom\Document Scanning Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely opening and scanning of financial instruments and associated documents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understanding the workflow of the mailroom, including the movement of payments from the initial receipt of mail to storage of source documents
- Maintaining security of financial instruments and ensuring all payments are accounted for during daily processing
- Providing backup to other departments, as needed
- Understanding the Opex equipment, including proper operation, cleaning and normal care
- Ability to provide estimated mail volumes, track mail statistics and complete required Mailroom logs
- Efficiently and effectively open and scan mail received
- Processing of hand open mail
- Verifying that scanned images are readable and correctly coded
- Appropriately filing source documents and checks after processing
- Understanding all types of mail received and how to process the different types of mail
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED certification
- Ability to learn and retain policies and procedures
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Attentive to detail
- Ability to be flexible with fluctuating work volumes and commitment to get the job done
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with efficiency and accuracy
- Prior experience in a mailroom and/or payment processing operation highly desirable
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation
Must be able to work shift starting at 7 am Monday through Friday. Approximately 24 - 28 hours per week.
