ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for all Datacenter Systems and Servers, including databases.
  • Maintains, Configures and Manages the HUSD Microsoft Office 365 Environment.
  • Maintains and supports server hardware and software, including but not limited to, Apple device support, data backup, Google Suite applications, Microsoft Intune, software updates, Windows updates, special systems (e.g. AC controls, badge readers, Transportation software.)
  • Maintains, Configures and Manages the VMWare infrastructure, and critical servers such as the student information systems equipment.
  • Provides upper-tier support for Tech 3’s and above when needed
  • Ensures all HUSD servers and systems are updated with relevant security and software updates.
  • Assists the Sr. Systems Engineer in server design, implementation and performance.
  • Assists in maintaining District wide communication and numbering plan and changes to telephone system.
  • Assists other District personnel, supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of this job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records and utilizing delegated authority.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Ability is required to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment.
  • Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes and operate equipment using defined methods.
  • Flexibility is required to work with a broad spectrum of diverse individuals; work with a variety of types of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment.
  • Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate.
  • Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; working with constant interruptions and working with detailed information/data
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card

 

CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess or obtain at least one of the following within 2 years of hire.

  • Microsoft Role Based Certification
  • VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization

 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.

 

Primarily an indoor working environment in multiple locations. Moderate physical effort. May require stooping, bending, kneeling, periodic handling of objects up to 50 pounds, crawling and walking. Requires dexterity to wire and configure computer, media systems and peripherals

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

TOTAL PAID HOLIDAYS: 21

Salary : $66,057 - $92,390
