IT Support Technician 8hr (2026-2027)

Position Title: IT Support Technician 

F.L.S.A.: Non-exempt

Reports To: Network Manager

Terms of Employment: 12 months

Qualifications:

• Minimum - Associates Degree (preferred) in computer technology or related field
• Certifications preferred - A , Network
• Experience preferred - 5 years in computer technology or related field

The applicant should have proficient knowledge, skills, and experience in the following areas:

• Computer hardware and software systems and programs
• Computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Computer troubleshooting
• Current version of Windows Server and Active Directory
• Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
• Team building skills
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Decision making skills
• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
• Effective written communications skills
• Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized, spreadsheet, word-processing, programs at a proficient level

Essential Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot all technology issues
• Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
• Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
• Research current and potential resources and services
• Provide network access to all staff and students
• Install work stations
• Connect and set up hardware
• Load all required software
• Provide network accounts and passwords as required
• Input and maintain IP addresses
• Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
• Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
• Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal

Other Job Functions :

• Assist area network specialists as directed by network manager
• Assist in the management, installation, and maintenance of wireless networks
• Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Operations
