POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Instructional Technology Coordinator
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Information Technology Officer
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months
SUPERVISES: Instructional Technology Resource Teachers (ITRTs)
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Hold valid Virginia Teaching License
- Bachelor’s Degree
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise and evaluate ITRTs
- Plan, coordinate, and assess training provided by ITRTs to all schools
- Provides support to schools as needed
- Provide training and support for specialty schools and programs
- Serve as a liaison between the Instructional Department and Information Technology to facilitate coordination of efforts
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and optimize the division’s Learning Management System (LMS) and core instructional ecosystems, ensuring smooth rostering, user management, and tech-support workflows.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate ongoing professional development programs (including workshops, cohorts, and asynchronous modules) to help educators seamlessly integrate technology into daily instruction.
- Deliver targeted training and continuous support on PowerSchool and core divisional platforms, driving system-wide adoption among administrators, staff, teachers, and parents.
- Coordinate and facilitate comprehensive technology onboarding programs for all new division employees, ensuring immediate competency with core software, hardware, and digital workflows.
- Assist in required revisions of the PCS Technology Plan, Acceptable Use Policy, and Internet Safety Education Program
