The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.Under the direction of the Deputy Executive Director, within the Dedicated Support team, Office of Temporary Disability Assistance Portfolio, the position requires availability during off-shift hours to ensureappropriate response to security incidents or other criticalactivities that may impact sensitive information, critical systems,NYS agencies, or ITS.Duties include, but are not limited to: • Manage and implement information security and complianceprograms.• Manage and resolve security threats to agency informationsystems.• Serve as information security expert and evaluate systems andcontracts for alignment with agency and State informationsecurity policies.• Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities.• Monitor and remain aware of information security industrytrends, tools, and techniques.• Perform additional duties as required.
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience*, including one year at the supervisory level.*Substitutions: -A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field including or supplemented by 15semester credit hours in computer science or related field substitutes for three years ofrequired experience; any bachelor’s substitutes for two years of required experience.-An associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related fieldmay substitute for one year of required experience. Candidates in a bachelor’s degreeprogram with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or related field maysubstitute such credits for one year of required experience.-A master’s degree or higher in computer science or related field substitutes for one yearof required experience.
