As the Director of Policy, Asia-Pacific, you will help develop and advance ITI’s policy analysis, advocacy, and strategy in this vibrant region. You will leverage and develop expertise in the political economies and governments of countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Australia. You will partner with ITI member companies, colleagues, and other stakeholders in the U.S. and abroad to help develop and advocate for ITI’s Asia-Pacific priorities, advancing policies and initiatives that support ITI members’ ability to access markets, navigate laws and regulations, and innovate globally.

Your responsibilities:
- Monitors, analyzes, and distills information and intelligence relevant to Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia ICT policies and regulations (including U.S. policies) to provide member updates, analysis, and strategy recommendations.
- Supports the Senior Vice President of Policy, Asia in developing policy, strategy, and gathering information to inform members.
- Leads China and Asia-Pacific Committee meetings and work programs and contributes to ITI’s international trade and regulatory activities involving this region.
- Leads Southeast Asia policy work, including prioritization and policy recommendations, and advises ITI regulatory team and Asia-Pacific Regulatory Committee on government and regional dynamics.
- Maintains close contact with relevant U.S. and Asia-Pacific government officials and other stakeholders to enhance advocacy and information gathering efforts.
- Engages with ITI members to explain key Asia and relevant U.S. policies, current ITI objectives, and solicit member feedback.
- Drafts fact sheets, position papers, comment submissions, letters, and other written materials for members and policymakers, including responses to ITI member inquiries.
- Tracks U.S. Information Technology Office (USITO) – an association co-managed by ITI and other trade associations in Beijing, China – products and comment requests and maintains effective contact with USITO colleagues.
- Represents ITI at meetings with policymakers, at conferences, events, public speaking opportunities, and other stakeholder meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, law, business, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, public policy, or related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience with information and communications technology policy issues.
- Expertise regarding Asian regulatory agencies, major media outlets, China’s policy environment, and Southeast Asia/ASEAN dynamics required.
- Experience working in Asia and fluency in an East Asian language preferred; Mandarin is a plus.
- Ability to undertake periodic domestic and international business travel.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task/prioritize numerous projects and meet deadlines.

Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
