Role: UI/UX DesignerLocation: Madison, WI - Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation is allowed. This position will work mostly remote (from within the state of WI). However, the selected hire should plan to come onsite a few times each month on average, as project needs dictate.Interview Process: Teams meeting. Follow up round as necessaryDuration of the Contract: 6/30/2026, likely to extend on a multi-year basis Top Required Skills and Years' Experience:Experience creating low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes to visualize and test design concepts – at least 3 yearsSkills in writing clear and concise user-friendly text for interfaces – at least 3 yearsExperience in conducting user research, gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and analyzing it to inform design decisions along with creating user personas, user flows, and journey maps to understand user needs and behaviors – at least 3 years Nice to Have Skills:Experience in designing with WCAG accessibility guidelines in mindAbility to clearly articulate design choices, present ideas, and work effectively with various teams (developers, clients, stakeholders)Familiarity with ASP.NET Core frameworks (including Razor), third-party UI component libraries such as Telerik UI, and front-end web technologies like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, and potentially modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular and React) Project details: This position is responsible for designing, helping to develop, and maintaining the UI/UX for the rebuilding of Wisconsin’s statewide voter registration system called WisVote, on .NET Core framework.
