Position Overview
- IRG Clients is seeking a highly skilled IT Field Services Specialist to support multiple regional sites by maintaining reliable IT operations, endpoint environments, local network infrastructure, and business-critical applications. This role serves as the key technical bridge between local business units and centralized IT service teams.
- The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable working independently across multiple field locations while coordinating closely with remote infrastructure, networking, and service management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Technical Support & Coordination (35%)
- Provide day-to-day onsite technical support for site-specific systems and users
- Travel across regional locations to address operational IT needs (no overnight stays)
- Serve as liaison between business units and central IT teams
- Support IT components tied to local business processes and operations
- Endpoint Management & Automation (25%)
- Maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and specialized site equipment
- Perform firmware patching, security updates, and endpoint health checks
- Develop/modify scripts and automation to improve site efficiency (PowerShell)
- Maintain accurate asset inventory and documentation within ITSM tools
- Tools environment may include ServiceDesk platforms, endpoint management suites, and SCCM-type tools
- Application & Productivity Support (20%)
- Support desktop productivity tools and ensure patch compliance
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot site-specific applications
- Document configurations and share knowledge with service management teams
- Network Infrastructure & Connectivity (10%)
- Install and configure physical networking equipment following enterprise standards
- Support connectivity for WAN/external circuits and minimize downtime
- Communicate maintenance and outage information to site leadership
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting data to networking/server teams
- Administration & Compliance (10%)
- Track tickets, assets, and vendor issues in the ITSM system
- Produce technical documentation and weekly status updates
- Participate in occasional on-call rotation and team meetings
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience with ITSM tools, automation scripting, and network hardware configuration
- 2 years of hands-on endpoint management (hardware, firmware, peripherals, patching)
- 2 years of troubleshooting integrated IT systems and user environments
- 2 years of basic network hardware installation and WAN/circuit monitoring
- Experience documenting assets, tickets, and knowledge articles in ITSM systems
- Ability to travel regionally using a state fleet vehicle (car use agreement required)
- Participation in on-call rotation as needed
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in field environments
