Job Summary
IRG Clients is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technical Specialist (ITS) to serve as the primary administrator of the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment. This role oversees critical platforms including AMANDA, FileCloud, and the DIAL Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The ITS is responsible for cloud infrastructure management, security and compliance, system monitoring, deployment, and end-user support to ensure high availability, performance, and a seamless user experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage AWS GovCloud infrastructure supporting enterprise business applications and AWS VDI environments.
- Serve as the FileCloud administrator, including user onboarding, troubleshooting, and technical support for all users.
- Monitor, secure, patch, and optimize cloud environments to maintain performance and compliance.
- Perform nightly/weekend on-call patching, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems, connectivity, and performance issues using monitoring tools.
- Support cloud adoption initiatives including environment prototyping, server builds, and data migration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide status updates, and maintain quality standards.
- Work independently while proactively learning new systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience managing AWS infrastructure for business applications and VDI.
- 5 years of FileCloud administration and user support experience.
- Strong knowledge of advanced system security methods and cloud compliance practices.
- Experience as an enterprise systems administrator with deployment automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems architecture in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, CLI, and VM infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, hardware, and IT security concepts.
- Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting complex cloud environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in cloud migration strategy, application readiness assessment, and cloud adoption planning.
- Background in customer-facing support, consulting, or collaborative technical roles.
- Application knowledge of Java, .NET, and enterprise systems integration.
