Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator / Rigger for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Liberty, TX. This role requires hands-on experience with crane operations and rigging procedures in industrial or construction environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely lifting, moving, positioning, and securing heavy equipment and materials using cranes and rigging gear.
You will play a key role in maintaining a safe job site by working closely with site supervisors, engineers, and fellow crew members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile or fixed cranes in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
- Set up, inspect, and maintain rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, shackles, etc.)
- Attach and secure loads properly, ensuring weight distribution and balance
- Signal and communicate clearly with crane operators and ground crews during lifts
- Interpret lift plans, load charts, and safety procedures
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns
- Assist with crane setup and dismantling as needed
- Follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies at all times
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Crane Operator and/or Rigger in construction or industrial settings
- NCCCO Crane Operator certification (required for crane operation)
- Qualified Rigger certification (preferred or as required by client)
- Strong understanding of load calculations, rigging techniques, and signaling procedures
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid government-issued ID and authorization to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, and climb for extended periods
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Full-time, daytime hours (overtime may be required)
- Start Date: ASAP (pending background and certification verification)
- Type: 1099 contract-to-hire with potential for long-term placement
Pay: $24.41 - $29.40 per hour
