Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)
Location: Bronx, NY, 10461
Schedule: 3 days/week | 11.5-hour shifts
Hours per Week: 34.5
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses for a short-term contract assignment supporting emergency services during orientation coverage. The ideal candidate will be confident in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and capable of delivering high-quality patient care independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the emergency department
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
- Initiate and manage IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
- Assist with and monitor patients undergoing conscious sedation
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
- Vent experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- May float to Med/Surg OR ICU units
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program
Licensure & Certifications (Required)
- Active New York State RN License
- Primary Source Verification via NYS Department of Education (NYSED)
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- TNCC (required for specific emergency departments)
