JOB DESCRIPTION-
Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is a senior-level role within the Supply Chain organization responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials from qualified suppliers while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery expectations. This role supports manufacturing operations by managing purchasing activities, maintaining procurement master data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and identifying opportunities to improve supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials to support production schedules while ensuring supplier quality and on-time delivery.
- Obtain and maintain supplier pricing, lead times, and delivery information.
- Create, update, and maintain purchase orders and procurement master data.
- Collaborate with Planning, Scheduling, Inventory, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing teams.
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Monitor purchasing schedules and adjust plans to accommodate production changes.
- Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support supplier qualification and sourcing initiatives.
- Review inventory levels and forecast material requirements.
- Maintain procurement records, source lists, information records, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and sales orders.
- Utilize Quality Management Systems (QMS) to document changes, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Participate in internal and external supplier meetings to review delivery performance and project status.
- Assist with SOP development, process improvements, and employee training.
- Perform additional procurement and supply chain duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, or a related field,
- OR
- High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or scheduling.
Experience
- 4 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of procurement experience using MRP and/or ERP systems.
- 4 years of experience using SAP and Microsoft Office for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience working in ISO and cGMP regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF functions).
