PCB Design Lead

Position Summary

The PCB Design Lead is responsible for coordinating PCB design activities across automotive electronics programs and ensuring designs are completed, reviewed, and released in accordance with program, customer, manufacturing, and quality requirements.

The role serves as the primary coordination point between PCB designers, electronics engineers, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, validation, quality, and program teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and coordinate PCB design activities from concept through production release.

· Plan PCB design workload, priorities, timing, and deliverables across multiple programs.

· Work closely with electrical engineers to translate schematic and system requirements into PCB designs.

· Coordinate with mechanical, optical, thermal, manufacturing, validation, and supplier teams to ensure all design requirements are incorporated.

· Conduct PCB design reviews and ensure identified issues are resolved before release.

· Ensure designs meet customer, automotive, manufacturing, reliability, EMC, and internal design requirements.

· Manage PCB design revisions and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.

· Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly suppliers to resolve manufacturing and design issues.

· Maintain PCB design standards, templates, libraries, checklists, and best practices.

· Review and approve PCB design documentation and manufacturing release packages.

· Ensure all required design reviews, approvals, and documentation are completed before design release.

· Coordinate prototype builds and support design-related issue resolution during validation and launch.

· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to PCB designers and engineering team members.

· Support program teams with PCB feasibility, timing, resource, cost, and design-risk assessments.

· Act as the primary point of contact for PCB design status and communicate risks, actions, and progress to the broader engineering and program teams.

· Own and coordinate the final PCB design release process, ensuring cross-functional approval and design readiness prior to release to suppliers/manufacturing.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

· Significant experience in PCB design and automotive electronics development.

· Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools.

· Experience coordinating PCB development across cross-functional engineering teams.

· Strong design review, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

· Prior technical leadership or mentoring experience preferred.

Salary : $45 - $50
