Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Multimedia Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, and delivery of automotive multimedia systems from concept through production release. This role will serve as a key technical leader responsible for cross-domain and cross-generation multimedia programs, working closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and global stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automotive multimedia systems, infotainment platforms, connected services, telematics, and vehicle software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multimedia system development from planning through launch, validation, and production release
- Coordinate multimedia software releases and align project milestones with global stakeholders
- Define project scope, timelines, and technical requirements for North American programs
- Collaborate with headquarters teams and suppliers to manage schedules, risks, and issue resolution
- Support connected vehicle and multimedia features including:
- Remote Engine Start
- Lock/Unlock Functions
- Vehicle Locator
- Vehicle Status Notifications
- Connected Services
- Telematics & Remote Services
- Perform technical investigations and root cause analysis for in-market issues
- Review system architecture, specifications, and user impact assessments
- Partner with quality, manufacturing, software, firmware, and testing teams to ensure successful product delivery
- Prepare and present technical updates and executive-level reports
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Automotive Multimedia Systems Development
- Strong understanding of:
- Automotive Infotainment Systems
- Multimedia Hardware & Software Architectures
- Connected Vehicle Technologies
- Telematics Platforms
- Experience managing suppliers and coordinating cross-functional engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced development environments with multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with connected vehicle services and mobile app integrations
- Japanese language skills
- Executive reporting experience
- Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers
