What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Counselor, Artificial Intelligence & Data, and Enterprise Architecture position at Info-Tech Research Group?
We are seeking a Technical Counselor to work as a trusted advisor to provide guidance and insights to AI, Data, Enterprise Architecture Strategic Leaders to define, implement, and scale their practices. Technical Counselor works directly with clients to accelerate AI, Data, EA (Enterprise Architecture) maturities, align technology with business strategy, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
This role requires a blend of deep AI, Data expertise with good working knowledge with EA, consultative skills, and coaching ability to guide members through strategy development, capability building, governance design, and modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical Counsel and oversight exclusively to 16-22 clients within any 12-month period cultivated or assigned
- Ability to participate in unstructured value-based client conversations and create new methods for a client’s success.
- Provide 1:1 counseling session to help members design and implement AI, Data, EA frameworks, roadmaps, and operating models.
- Provide confidential and professional advising to our members in-person, telephonically, as well as digitally through Video Conferencing
- Evaluate members’ needs and work with them to set objectives and develop a strategy/work plan within the terms and conditions of the members’ agreement.
- Embrace Info-Tech Research Group culture of continuous learning by participating in on-going self and industry development activities.
- Provide proactive thought leadership and new ideas not “asked for” on behalf of the client’s membership
- Participate in regular communication / support / education and participation with Sales Leadership and Account Directors to account planning and support efforts
- Leverage ITRG and 3rd party assets to deliver on promises within the memberships
- Diagnose member value expectations pain points and connect them with appropriate Info-Tech Research Group product solutions.
- Advise on modern architecture trends such as cloud adoption, SaaS transformation, microservices, API strategies, and AI Architecture & Integration etc.
- Build strong relationships with the member peers and important stakeholders to provide experiences that are tailored to the member’s objectives and culture.
- Collaborate with research teams to validate frameworks with client feedback.
Experience:
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of professional IT or strategy experiences at multiple organizations at leadership positions in building AI & Data eco systems, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Strategy, Innovation, or similar domain (Infrastructure, Applications, Data, Integration, Security).
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and deploying traditional AI, M/L frameworks, Agentic AI frameworks, and their practical applications.
- Experience in building and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with big data eco systems such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Expertise in architecting AI solutions on cloud platforms, leveraging services for compute (EC2, Azure VMs), storage (S3, Blob Storage), and machine learning (SageMaker, Azure ML, Google AI Platform).
- Ability to design end-to-end AI systems, including APIs, microservices, and integration with existing enterprise applications and databases
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), model monitoring, versioning, and automated deployment strategies for AI models.
- Expert knowledge in implementing Strategies (AI, Data, EA), Operating Models (AI, Data, EA) and Innovation initiatives.
- Solid people relationship skills; operational and systems development skills
- Good understanding of Enterprise Architecture and Strategy roles, politics, human behavior and predictive scenarios related to Enterprise Architecture and Strategy leadership
- Exceptional customer service focus, high professionalism and adherence to ethical principles of conduct
- Strong communication and organizational skills, self-starter
- Ability to adhere to members and Info-Tech Research Group core value as a trusted executive
- Familiarity with cloud transformation, SaaS modernization, AI/ML, and emerging technology trends.
- Strong verbal, written, facilitation and presentation skills
- Professional qualifications in this space such as DAMA, SAFe, TOGAF, ArchiMate, DoDAF or similar are advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in French, Spanish or German is good to have to support our diverse client base across North America and globally.
- Must be flexible in taking calls during off hours if required.
- Ability to travel approx. 25% of the time, as needed.
