What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Administrator-Richmond VA - Onsite position at INFO ORIGIN INC?
We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support and maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Support Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Entra ID/Azure AD
- Perform server patching, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide Tier 2/3 support
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations
- Support security initiatives including MFA, system hardening, and compliance activities
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and change management processes
- 5 years of Windows Server administration experience
- Strong Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD/Entra ID
- Experience with patch management, backups, and system monitoring
- Knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V virtualization
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with MFA, access control, and security best practices
- Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP)
- Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud experience
- Intune or endpoint management exposure
- SIEM/EDR and Conditional Access experience
- Knowledge of NIST or regulated/government environments
- Infrastructure automation and advanced PowerShell scripting experience
