Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and behavioral health assessments across various age groups.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Conduct telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services for diverse populations.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies to promote wellness.
- Stay current with clinical research developments and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with active state licensure.
- Proven experience working with behavioral health patients in settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals, or inpatient units.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and drug interactions.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR Cerner, Optimantrafor medical documentation and patient management.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as IV infusion, venipuncture, injections administration, and basic life support (BLS).
