Our large venture capital client with over $10B in AUM is looking to hire a Fund Accounting Manager. This role will be based in San Francisco and in the office Monday-Thursday.


ROLE:

  • Serve as the primary owner of fund-level accounting execution
  • Own the day-to-day accounting and close execution across assigned funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of financial reporting.
  • Own and manage the quarterly (and annual) close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee quarterly valuations with the investment team by coordinating data, reviewing assumptions, and ensuring accounting and valuation policy consistency.
  • Oversee and review work performed by third-party administrators, including NAVs, capital activity, investor allocations, and loan activity
  • Facilitate and manage fund external audits
  • Oversee cash forecasting performed by the junior team members
  • Oversee leverage compliance including leverage advances and repayments, monthly servicing reporting, and quarterly compliance reporting. Escalate leverage-related issues, covenant risks, and reporting matters to the CFO and Finance Director as appropriate.
  • Review liquidity forecasts to manage fund liquidity and investments pipeline and identify potential timing or funding risks.
  • Support fundraising and due diligence efforts by preparing and validating financial information, responding to accounting-related diligence requests, and supporting fund onboarding from an execution standpoint.
  • Champion the adoption of AI tools across the finance team to automate routine tasks, accelerate the close and reporting cycle, and improve accuracy


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of experience in finance or accounting, with exposure to venture capital, private equity funds or related fields; CPA and Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, high energy, initiative, and creativity.
  • Compelling interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Great team player and willing to roll up sleeves to help others on the team.
  • Exceptional organization skills, timeline management and attention to detail.
  • Possess a high sense of urgency and strong desire for excellence.
