About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a weekend night shift position at a high-volume, state-of-the-art hospital in Temple, TX. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology across multiple surgical specialties within a collaborative and high-performing perioperative team.

Position Highlights

• Full-time weekend night schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (7P–7A)
• Exposure to 13 specialties including robotics, ortho, spine, neuro, CV, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, transplant, and more
• 33 operating rooms, 3 hybrid neurovascular/vascular suites, and robotic systems including 4 Da Vinci, 2 Mako, and 1 Ion
• Robust training opportunities in neuro and cardiac specialties
• Strong collaboration between nursing, surgery, anesthesia, and residents

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans
• Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care in accordance with protocols
• Monitor surgical environments and ensure safe, sterile practices
• Advocate for patients and ensure their physical and emotional needs are met
• Participate in process improvement and patient outcome initiatives
• Delegate tasks according to licensure scope and team competencies

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program (Associate’s required, Bachelor’s preferred)
• Active RN license in the State of Texas (or compact license)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) – Required or within 30 days of hire

Skills & Competencies

• Clinical judgment and critical thinking under pressure
• Understanding of infection control, surgical prep, and OR protocols
• Proficiency in medical documentation and EMR systems
• Strong interpersonal and team communication abilities
• Experience with robotic and advanced surgical technology preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay Range: $34 – $55/hour (based on experience)
