Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across various properties / buildings. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team in the field. Experience with HVAC design, refrigeration, light plumbing, and equipment repair is highly valued. A valid driver’s license is necessary for travel between job sites. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment, computer room systems
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct service calls for property maintenance and appliance repair related to HVAC systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, motors, and electrical wiring
- Weld or perform other mechanical repairs as needed for system integrity
- Maintain accurate service records and document work performed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all service activities
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary
- Operate specialized equipment including ammonia refrigeration units and HVAC/R systems
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician in construction or property maintenance environments
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and appliance repair techniques
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with field service operations and troubleshooting complex systems
- Experience with welding, boiler operation, and ammonia refrigeration is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in various field settings while adhering to safety protocols
- Valid driver’s license required; experience operating commercial vehicles preferred
- Certification or licensing in HVAC/R or related fields is advantageous
