Position Overview
Infinity is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to provide in-home therapy services to homebound patients. This position involves delivering physician-ordered occupational therapy interventions in collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team.
Service may include one or multiple counties, based on clinician preference. Counties served include, but are not limited to: Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana.
Essential Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will:
- Deliver physician-ordered occupational therapy services in accordance with the established plan of care
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team
- Observe, document, and report patient progress toward short- and long-term functional goals
- Communicate patient response to treatment and recommend modifications to the plan of care as appropriate
- Identify and recommend adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote patient independence and safety
- Instruct patients and caregivers in:
- Therapeutic exercises
- Functional activities of daily living
- Safe transfers and mobility using appropriate body mechanics and equipment
- Provide education on the proper use of assistive and orthotic devices
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care planning as needed
- Uphold professional standards in accordance with the Code of Ethics, state regulations, and HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Ohio OTA licensure
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with ability to travel
- Current CPR certification
- Pre-employment physical examination
- Annual health assessment as required by the Ohio Department of Health
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to patient homes, meetings, and training sessions as required
- Ability to safely perform patient care activities consistent with occupational therapy practice standards
