Position Summary
We are looking for a second-shift Control Panel Assembler / Technician to build industrial control panels from drawings and schematics. This is a hands-on role in our panel shop—laying out components, wiring, labeling, and helping test panels before they ship to customers.
Schedule
- Second Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm
- Includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break (8 hours paid per day)
- Overtime as needed based on production schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Build industrial control panels according to electrical schematics, layout drawings, and work instructions
- Lay out and mount components: breakers, contactors, relays, terminal blocks, PLCs, VFDs, power supplies, etc.
- Cut, strip, crimp, and land wires neatly and correctly per wiring diagrams and panel schedules
- Perform point-to-point wiring checks and basic continuity checks
- Label wires and components per prints and shop standards
- Assist with panel testing / FAT under guidance of senior technicians or engineers
- Follow all safety procedures and use hand/power tools properly
- Keep work area clean and support 5S / lean practices
- Communicate drawing or material issues to leads or engineers
- Complete required build and QC documentation
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience with electrical or mechanical assembly such as:
- Control panel assembly
- Industrial electrician / electrician’s helper
- Low-voltage or control wiring
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail with wire numbers, terminations, and labels
- Reliable and able to work second shift hours consistently
Preferred:
- Experience with industrial control panels (UL 508A experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, or machine controls
- Able to use a multimeter for basic checks
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or panel shop environment
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for most of the shift
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent bending, reaching, and working inside/around enclosures
