Infinity Fire Protection has been a part of the fire protection community for over 20 years. Our focal point is life safety in residential apartments, condominiums and housing areas; we service many commercial properties as well. We service Western Washington and our home is Maple Valley, WA. The Western Washington service area reaches as far north as Burlington and as far south as Olympia.
Infinity Fire Protection, a leader in the Fire Protection Industry in Washington State. We have been in business since 2003 and are locally owned and operated. We sell, install and service fire alarm systems and fire extinguishers. We service and maintain fire sprinkler systems, emergency exit lights, restaurant fire suppression systems, and backflow prevention assemblies.
We are currently looking for Fire Protection Technicians. This position performs installation, Inspection and testing, service, and repairs on fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, backflow assemblies, emergency lights, and fire extinguishers. Our operations and reporting office is in Maple Valley, WA.
SUMMARY:
The Fire Protection Technician performs a wide variety of functions associated with the inspection/testing, service, installation and repair of Fire Extinguishers, Fire Sprinklers, backflow Assemblies, Fire alarm systems, and emergency exit lighting of numerous manufacturers products adhering to NFPA, NEC, WA DOH, and OSHA standards.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
1. Inspection and/or Testing: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Sprinkler systems, backflow assemblies, and emergency exit lighting. Installation, Testing, and Repairs of fire alarm systems. Trouble shooting, programming fire panels, repairing and/or replacing parts, equipment and panels utilizing schematics and operational product manuals.
3. Completes required paperwork/reports on each customer job including: daily time, progress, duration, record parts, material, labor, subs, returns and other cost data including deficiencies for repair
4. Performs 24 hour On Call weekly on a rotation once approved to do so, or when necessary.
6. Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
7. Other duties as requested and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
2. Strong organizational skills with little or no supervision with a "positive attitude"
3. Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on-call. Ability to work at heights/ladders and lift and handle up to 75 pounds
5. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions (i.e. climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, working in attics, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.)
6. Ability to work in changing weather conditions
7. Adhere to quality and safety requirements
8. Ability to obtain industry certifications within a set company training schedule as required.
9. Must be at least 18 years of age
10. Possess a Valid Driver's License and Safe driving record that meets Company requirements
11. Successful completion of a pre-employment background and Drug test
12. High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED:
1. 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in two (2) or more fire protection services preferred
2. Seattle certified in Fire Extinguishers, Alarms, Sprinklers, and Standpipes.
3. State ITT, NICET II water base & Fire Alarm
4. Washington state backflow and specialty plumbers
4. Knowledge of test equipment: multi meter, laptop, tablet, battery tester, power tools, hand tools, and communication devices.
5. Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and backflow assemblies And the ability to obtain industry certifications within a set company training schedule as required by national, state, and local codes: SFD, NFPA and NICET.
