Proofreader - Position Summary: Infinity Direct is searching for a proofreader to join our Creative team. The proofreader will ensure that all content adheres to client editorial style guidelines and is grammatically correct and consistent. This person will proofread a variety of marketing deliverables, including emails, display ads and direct mail. The proofreader will produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment, often with short turnaround times. Clear and thorough written and verbal communication is essential.

Responsibilities
- Proofread materials for a variety of clients, performing proofreading and brand style compliance.
- Support the Creative and Account teams in keeping current on client feedback and updating client/brand style guides. Serve as an expert regarding style, grammar, usage and client preferences.
- Offer editorial input by raising queries and suggesting rewording where necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet tight deadlines. Prioritize urgent work.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of terminology, trademarks and detailed legal disclaimers.
- Work closely with the Senior Editor to ensure thorough review of work and timely turnarounds.
- Light copy writing as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism or associated field. Experience as a proofreader or editor preferred. Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly. Comfort with Mac operating systems. Skills with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Outlook, plus the ability to learn other systems as needed. Highly skilled in written English, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary; proficiency with AP and/or Chicago style guidelines. Analytical mindset, and the ability to see both the big picture and details of a project. Effective communication/interpersonal skills to work across teams.
