Responsibilities and Duties
- Adhere and support the organization’s safety, observing OSHA and all state-level agency regulations (MTA, SCA, etc.)
- Enforce orientation of job-specific training (scaffolding, aerial lift training, etc.) on-site
- Create and manage safety-related documents
- Facilitate external/internal inspections
- Host Toolbox talks and train new employees on safety standards
- Identify potential safety risks and protect workers against possible hazards
- Verify existing field conditions and report changes to affected parties
- Establish and enforce acceptable levels of workmanship and good practices
- Inspect materials for conformance against approved documents and specifications
- Identify subcontractors NCRs, communicate across project stakeholders and ensure compliance
- Identify and address punch-list items
- Plan and direct construction activities of the subcontractors, laborers, and other staff as assigned
- Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to construction schedule and budget
- Identify, order and manage resources required to finish company self-performed activities
- Assign daily tasks to field laborers
- Maintain relationships with customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, superiors, and project team
- Hire and layoff field labor
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution
- Initiate and communicate with project team RFIs, Submittals, and potential COs
- Arrange on-site rigging, equipment, and material deliveries
- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in a critical path to ensure timely completion
- Attend meetings with Construction Manager/client
- Prepare daily reports
- Collect and submit payroll documentation
- 2 year(s) superintendent and/or foreman experience
- 5 years of construction-related experience.
- Possession of SST62
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Excellent time management skills.
