Position Summary:
This is a relationship-driven role. The Account Manager is responsible for managing and retaining a book of employee benefits clients, while delivering strategic guidance and high-quality service. This role serves as a primary point of contact for clients and works closely with internal team members and insurance carrier partners. You’ll lead client strategy, guide benefit decisions, and help organizations navigate the ever-changing world of employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Management & Strategy
- Manage overall retention and growth of assigned client accounts
- Lead annual renewal strategy, planning, and implementation
- Identify opportunities to enhance client benefit programs
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, HR leaders, and executives
Client & Carrier Support
- Respond to client and employee inquiries related to enrollment, billing, and claims
- Liaise with insurance carriers to resolve issues
- Troubleshoot and proactively address potential challenges
Meetings & Communication
- Conduct open enrollment meetings (virtual and onsite)
- Present renewal and compliance updates to clients
- Clearly communicate both internally, and eternally, to ensure seamless service
Team Collaboration & Development
- Work collaboratively with consultants and service team members
- Stay current on industry trends, legislation, and compliance
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in employee benefits or health insurance account management
- Current Wisconsin Life and Accident & Health Licenses
- Working knowledge of health insurance plans and benefit structures
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for client meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with online benefits administration systems
- Industry designations
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in employee benefits
