Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within a chemical processing, plating, and metal finishing facility. This role ensures that manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality and environmental standards.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Production Manager leads production teams, coordinates with cross-functional departments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet business goals.
Responsibilities
Production Oversight
- Manager Daily Operations across chemical processing, plating, and metal finishing lines.
- Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery timelines.
- Monitor daily production operations to ensure schedules, throughput, and quality standards are met.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate resource allocation (labor, equipment, and materials) to meet production goals.
Training/Employee Development
- Ensure new employees are properly introduced to company policies, safety procedures, equipment use, and production workflows.
- Develop and implement cross-training plans to ensure smooth operations
- Provide regular guidance, feedback, and coaching to help employees strengthen their skills and advance in their career.
- Assess employee performance, identify gaps, and create development plans as required.
Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production disruptions.
- Optimize chemical usage, plating processes, and resource allocation.
- Monitor equipment performance and schedule preventive maintenance.
- Manage production budgets and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze performance data and quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and build capacity for business growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in chemical processing or metal finishing.
- Strong knowledge of plating techniques (e.g., electroplating, anodizing), chemical handling, and safety standards.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage production teams.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
