Position Overview
Infinite Support Group, Inc. is seeking experienced and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) residential program.
DSPs are responsible for promoting independence, ensuring health and safety, assisting with daily living activities, supporting community integration, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals in a safe and supportive home environment.

Essential ResponsibilitiesDirect Support & Personal Care
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Bathing
- Grooming
- Dressing
- Toileting
- Meal preparation
- Laundry
- Household tasks
- Promote independence and self-advocacy whenever possible.
- Support individuals in achieving goals identified in their Personal Plans and Implementation Strategies.
- Provide emotional support and positive encouragement.
Health & Safety
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals served.
- Administer medications in accordance with Illinois DHS regulations and agency policies when authorized.
- Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral health.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established emergency procedures.
- Maintain awareness of individual medical needs, dietary restrictions, and behavioral support plans.
- Ensure compliance with all agency, DHS, and CILA regulations.
Community Integration
- Assist individuals in participating in community activities and events.
- Support recreational, educational, vocational, and social opportunities.
- Transport individuals to appointments, shopping, community outings, and activities using agency vehicles.
- Promote dignity, choice, and inclusion within the community.
Household Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
- Complete housekeeping duties including:
- Cleaning common areas
- Laundry
- Dishwashing
- Sanitization
- Inventory monitoring
- Assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Ensure adequate household supplies are maintained.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete daily documentation and service notes accurately and timely.
- Complete incident reports and other required documentation.
- Maintain communication logs and shift reports.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, QIDPs, nurses, guardians, and other team members.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Current listing on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry (HCWR) in good standing
- Minimum one year of Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass all required background checks and employment screenings
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous CILA experience
- Medication Administration Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience with behavior support plans
- Experience implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
- Experience completing documentation within DHS-regulated programs
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must be currently listed on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry and have prior DSP experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- CILA Programs
- Developmental Disability Services
- Group Homes
- ICF/DD Facilities
- Community-Based Residential Programs
Applicants without prior DSP experience or who are not listed on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry may not be considered.
