Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support dental practitioners by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced dental environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering patient care excellence. Candidates with experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics are encouraged to apply. A strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and dental imaging is essential for success in this position. Salary ranges with experience. Experience with Dentrix a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained throughout procedures.
- Take digital X-rays, including digital 3D scans, adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Record and update medical history information
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, working with with different clinical providers as needed
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas following OSHA guidelines.
- Support administrative duties such as answering phones and making recare appointments as needed
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
- Dentrix knowledge is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, dental charting, vital signs measurement, and dental terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to dental procedures is required.
