Job Title: Recovery Specialist
Department: Client Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Recovery Specialist plays a key role in supporting clients throughout their treatment journey by ensuring adherence to the daily schedule, program guidelines, and therapeutic expectations related to the 12 Steps of recovery. This role requires observation, compassion, and proactivity when it comes to supporting clients in recovery and providing structure. The Recovery Specialist serves as a role model for clients and acts as a liaison between clients, staff, and family members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitor client behavior and compliance with facility guidelines and daily schedule.
- Redirect client behavior as necessary and document all notable interactions.
- Always maintain awareness of the location and activities of each client.
- Support clients during programming and ensure active participation.
- Conduct weekly-one-on-one meetings with assigned clients and document accordingly.
- If applicable, provide transportation for clients as needed for appointments, admissions, or outings.
- Complete intake/enrollment process for incoming clients, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Facilitate 12-Step and accountability groups in alignment with program curriculum.
- Customize 12-Step work to meet individual client needs and support recovery goals.
- Document all groups facilitated in accordance with program standards.
- Maintain consistent contact with client families to share progress and discuss concerns.
- Document all family communications appropriately.
- Facilitate and supervise weekly client phone calls; prepare and post the weekly phone sheet.
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility and report any property issues to the maintenance department.
- Check and respond to emails daily for any updates, instructions, or concerns.
- Maintain balanced scheduling for maximum benefit of client care and family involvement.
- Accurately document all client interactions, group sessions, and family communication.
- Assist in the ongoing development and evolution of the 12-step component of the program.
- Assist with direct client care tasks as needed.
