Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Per Diem Porter to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment, assisting with facility upkeep, and supporting various departments as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, hallways, and facility grounds
- Assist with trash removal, recycling, and proper waste disposal
- Support housekeeping with floor care (sweeping, mopping, buffing, and spot cleaning)
- Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies throughout the facility as needed
- Assist with room setups, moves, and event/activity preparation
- Monitor facility for cleanliness and safety concerns, addressing or reporting issues promptly
- Respond to spills, accidents, and urgent cleaning needs in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory of supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Required to work every other weekend
- Available to work additional shifts during the week as needed (including holidays or coverage for call-outs)
- Previous porter, maintenance, or housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
- Ability to lift, push, and move equipment or furniture
- Comfortable being on feet for extended periods
