Job Description
We are looking for an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Mainframe DB2 on z/OS. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DB2 database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, DB2 tools, and DB2 architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform database administration for IBM DB2 on z/OS environments.
- Monitor and maintain DB2 database performance, availability, and reliability.
- Perform DB2 performance monitoring and tuning for applications.
- Analyze SQL performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support database design, architecture, backup/recovery, and maintenance activities.
- Manage DB2 objects including databases, tablespaces, indexes, and storage structures.
- Perform DB2 utilities, maintenance, and production support activities.
- Troubleshoot database performance and operational issues.
- Work closely with application development, systems, and infrastructure teams.
- Ensure database environments follow performance, security, and operational standards.
Required Skills
- 6 years of experience as a Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 on z/OS.
- Experience with DB2 tools and utilities.
- Strong knowledge of DB2 monitoring and performance tuning.
- Experience tuning DB2 for application workloads.
- Good understanding of DB2 architecture.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance concepts.
- Experience with DB2 production support and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with IBM DB2 performance monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, and Mainframe environments.
- Experience with DB2 backup/recovery and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of DB2 migration, upgrades, and version management.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise/mainframe environments.
