As our showroom expands, we are looking for a motivated and design-minded Retail Sales Associate to help clients create beautiful outdoor spaces and grow our local design network.
Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to assist clients with selecting outdoor furniture, fire pits, heaters, and accessory products. This role involves both in-showroom sales and outreach to local interior designers, builders, and landscape firms to invite them in for lunch-and-learns, product demos, and partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities
In-Showroom Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting outdoor furniture, fire pits, electric heaters, and related products.
- Help clients design complete outdoor living layouts that fit their space and style.
- Provide accurate product knowledge, pricing, and design recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom.
- Generate quotes, process sales, and work with operations/purchasing to track orders.
- Follow up with customers on orders, product questions, and project updates.
- Support showroom merchandising, seasonal displays, and product resets.
Outreach & Relationship-Building:
- Call on local designers, builders, and trade professionals to invite them to the showroom.
- Organize and host lunch-and-learn events to introduce product lines and educate trade partners.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local design and building communities.
- Promote Indy Grills as the premier provider for outdoor living solutions in Indianapolis.
Qualifications
- Retail, furniture sales, design consulting, or customer-facing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for outdoor living design and helping customers transform their spaces.
- High professionalism, polished presentation, and a warm customer-focused personality.
- Ability to learn product specs, design concepts, and showroom systems quickly.
- Comfortable working 5 days per week in the showroom.
Compensation
- Base salary: $800–$1,000 per week
- PLUS Commission: 6%–10% (approx $35-50,000 per year)
- Additional performance bonuses may be available.
