What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spring/Summer Game Operations Intern position at Indy Fuel?
The Indy Fuel & Fishers Freight is looking for energetic and motivated local college students for our Game Operations internship program. We take pride in offering fans a fast paced and exciting hockey environment and interns are integral in making that happen. We aim to provide our interns with rich sports industry experience and help to prepare them for their future opportunities. - Execute pre-game set up and tear down
- Participate in sponsored elements and assist fans taking part in intermission activities
- Assist with open house, post game jersey auctions/ autographs, and open skate when applicable
- Assist with game promotion planning, research, and execution
- General organization of storage areas/ warehouse
- Attend and assist with community events and mascot appearances when needed
- Support front office team through various office administrative tasks
Skills and Requirements
- Able to receive college credit for your internship
- Must be able to work the majority of home games for the entire fuel/ freight season
- Must be able to work a 5-8 hour office administrative shift once every 1-2 weeks
- Being able to stay on until season end of April (fuel) and July (freight) is preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work effectively with little to no supervision
- Must be able to troubleshoot in response to challenges
- Must have excellent communication skills and act as a team ambassador with every interaction
- Must have excellent strong personal organizational skills
*Please note: Interns are paid $50 for game day shifts, though office hours and community events are unpaid. This is not a remote opportunity, must be able to travel to Fishers for this internship.
